NICK BANHAM

Goalkeeper. 28/5/70. Signed from Anglian Combination club Mulbarton. This is his 6th full season at Yarmouth and he has rarely missed a game. First XI Players Player last season. Nick's wife Julia is his constant companion at all games and together they raise funds for the club with craft fairs. Nick recently indicated a wish to retire from the game and is currently not available for selection. Left January 2004 and signed for Dereham Town.

harrison.jpg

JODY HARRISON

Midfielder/defender. 22/7/77. Has been with Yarmouth for a number of years and played at all levels within the club. Sure-footed, and a dedicated one-club man. Nicknamed "Backpack" for some obscure reason!

darby2.jpg

ALAN DARBY

Defender. 29/11/83. Former Youth team player who seems assured of a great future. Achieved a notable hat-trick of awards two seasons ago: First XI manager's plus the Youth Team Players Player and Most Promising Player of the season.

shade.jpg

MICHAEL SHADE

Midfielder. 13/7/69. Now in his second spell with Yarmouth. This competitive but creative central midfielder was signed from Lowestoft Town in summer 2002 after three spells with the Blues and one with Gorleston to complete the East Coast triangle! Manager's P.O.Y. 2002-2003. Promoted to team captain this season.

pierpoint.jpg

GRANT PIERPOINT

Striker or midfielder. 17/9/74. His second season at Yarmouth but he was previously an experienced campaigner with Lowestoft Town. Creator of goals and has a surprising nimbleness of foot considering his size!

drake.jpg

NATHAN DRAKE

Midfielder/defender. 16/8/77. His second season having signed from Lowestoft Town. Has become an indispensable part of the Bloaters midfield with some cultured displays and rarely puts a foot wrong. Can quickly turn defence into attack.

humps.jpg

LEE HUMPHREYS

Midfielder or wingback. 21/12/75. Joined the Bloaters from Gorleston in October 1999. Player of the Year 1999-2000 and promoted to club captain this season. Likes a roving commission in midfield and is also the regular penalty taker!

georger.jpg

ROBERT GEORGE

Midfielder. 2/10/81. Signed summer 2000 from Norwich C. where he played in the Youth and Reserve teams. Leading scorer for the past three seasons and the Players Player of the Year 2002-2003. Always gives 110%, and watch out for his electrifying runs!

adcock.jpg

NEIL ADCOCK

Striker. 2/8/77. A former Yarmouth Reserves player who returned last season after a spell in local Yarmouth League football where he amassed a host of goals. Whole-hearted and honest player who never gives less than his all.

howes.jpg

KEVIN HOWES

Striker. 20/7/79. Second season, having been captured from Lowestoft Town where he spent two years mainly in the Reserves. Powerful header of the ball and a strong front-runner.

winkworth.jpg

KEVIN WINKWORTH. Striker/midfielder. 12.9.83. Joined the club last season from Cambridge United where he was a Youth team player. Has plenty of potential at Jewson level and has already impressed with his positional sense and forward running. Left November 2003.

NEW THIS SEASON

sbarker.jpg

STEWART BARKER. Midfielder. 24.8.81. Added to the squad from Fakenham Town in the summer. Can play anywhere on the left side. Returned to Fakenham, Nov. 2003.

cooper.jpg

SEAN COOPER. Goalkeeper. 11.03.67. A serving RAF officer and has represented the Combined Services soccer team in Europe and the Far East. Formerly a player with Bury Town (in their Dr Martens League days), Soham Town Rangers and Gorleston.

davids2.jpg

MARIO DAVIDS. Striker. 6.6.78. A welcome return to the Wellesley for the "Nimble Namibian"! Very popular with players and spectators alike and he can be a real handful to opponents. Re-signed from Kings Lynn September 2003.

ggilmore.jpg

GARY GILMORE. Midfielder. 31.7.80. Signed from Fakenham Town for the 2003-2004 season. An exciting, attacking midfielder who has been sought by the manager for some time. Both creates and scores goals.

pert.jpg

MARTIN PERT. Midfielder. 22/11/77. A former Yarmouth Youth player, Martin now coaches the U 18s at Cambridge City. Ran for Norfolk and also played for Dereham Town. Joined the Bloaters summer 2003.

spearing.jpg

TONY SPEARING. Defender. 7.10.64. A former professional with Leicester, Norwich and Stoke, Tony was manager of Dr Martens League club Kings Lynn for several seasons before joining AFC Sudbury last season when he played for them in the FA Vase Final. A knowledgable player whose experience can only be of benefit to his colleagues.

pongo.jpg

PAUL THOMPSON. Striker. 12.2.75. Yarmouth's 'prodigal son' returns to the club he left in 1995 for spells at Gorleston and Lowestoft. Prolific striker to whom the manager is looking to solve the perennial goal shortage at Wellesley Road.

hunt.jpg

STUART HUNT. Midfielder.
After an enforced absence from football of 18 months, Stuart has returned with renewed vigour and earned rave 'man-of-the-match' reviews in his comeback match (v Stowmarket, 11/10/03). Strong in midfield, he can make an accurate long pass or use a more subtle touch.

LEE BURTENSHAW. Midfielder signed December 2003 from Dereham Town.

AARON OSBOURNE. Goalkeeper signed December 2003 from Norwich City.

MARK VINCENT

Defender. 19/4/63. Mark officially retired after breaking the club's appearance record when he passed 500 games two seasons ago but couldn't stay away! Passed the 600 mark on 2nd November 2002! A great servant and ambassador for the club and football generally. Mark has seen and done most things in his long career but achieved a notable first on December 21st 2002 when he scored his first-ever hat-trick in the game against Ely City, including two trade-mark headers from corners.
